Description: The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Campaign recently reached a landmark achievement as they topped $2 billion after a seven year campaign. The campaign flash movie was created in the spirit of celebration to give thanks to staff, volunteers and donors, and to share the excitement of this remarkable success with the community. MIT’s Campaign chairman, Ray Stata ‘57, sent a personalized email to a private email list with the URL to the flash movie online.
Set to a soundtrack of Benny Goodman’s rendition of Sing, Sing, Sing by Louis Prima, the movie leads with an animated character of a cartoon X, a symbol used in the campaign material to tell a story of invention. The X dances down MIT’s famous Infinite Corridor while images of accomplishments fade in and out as the camera angle zooms down the hall (Infinite Corridor simulation by Mok3). The movie ends with an animated display of fireworks over MIT’s Great Dome and words of congratulations. Technically, the flash movie was optimized to stream on both dial-up and broadband connections.
